Our ApproachThe client decided to approach us due to a referral from a previous client. A member of our ET (Engagement Team) team went out to map what the client felt they wanted and to gauge the suitability of the project for WeComeOne. After several initial meetings and presentations between the ET and senior management team, we drew up an initial free consultancy programme worth eight hours. Our Free Initial InvestigationA member of the ET conducted interviews with key stakeholders, gatekeepers and connected staff to further understand our client’s internal controls. The initial investigation was concluded with the presentation of a formal report to our client. This report highlighted our findings, and more importantly set tangible goals and a roadmap of achieving such savings as desired by the client. This report was accepted, and we went to work on the roadmap. The project was to last four months, with 50 hours of consulting time, and a further 20 hours of our support staff to implement the proposed changes. The ProblemOur client had five full time designers producing all marketing materials in-house, and sourced a local printer who they had been using for fifteen years. They had an existing marketing spend of £180,000 on all staff wages, print, and web work. Our aim was to reduce spend levels by £50,000. |
The SolutionWe sourced new printers at more competitive prices; we sourced over 50% of their design work to be done by our Managed Services (MS) team. Using our extensive database of local, national and international printers we ran a tendering process on behalf of the client. We wanted to outsource “timeless” print abroad to printers with whom we had established rapport and could effectively monitor quality from our international offices. All time sensitive design work was maintained in-house, but over 50% of the work which wasn’t time sensitive was taken over by our MS team further reducing costs by 15%. Regular branding sessions were held between our brand consultants and designers to improve the overall quality of design. A communications structure was created between our client and the MS team to ensure on-going cost effectiveness and continuous improvement of brand design. Embedding ProcessesTo ensure that print and design costs remained within forecasts; we transferred our knowledge base to our client via organising training with key staff & stakeholders. |
